There was something in the air for Abbi and Bill's engagement shoot yesterday. I had a blast and felt honoured that they chose me to be a part of their day. Her is just a sneak peak at one from the resulting shots. More to follow.

You want to look amazing for your wedding right? You got the shoes, the makeup, THAT dress and everything is looking stunning. But we all know that the 6 weeks prior to the wedding can be just a little stressful... leading to maybe a few bad choices in the food department... right?
Well it's natural and normal to put on a bit of weight before the wedding and please don't beat yourself up about it. We're all human and this is supposed to be a happy time, a time to celebrate with friends and family and food and chocolate!!!
I really want to share this simple little idea and program with you but I know everyone is always just a little scared of new "wonder" workouts so I spent a few weeks consulting with a personal trainer and friend of mine to make sure you get results without hurting yourself. Her name is Mary and she's a very accomplished personal trainer and rehabilitation expert (as well as a nutrition guru). I know Mary would love to answer some of your questions and concerns, so let them rip in the comments!
This is a great strategy to get you started in the process of loosing a few kilos and toning up 6 weeks before the wedding. This piece of info comes with a massive WARNING: This will only work if you control your food intake (which i'll touch on in a later post).
Mary and I've developed this little program over a couple of weeks and she was kind enough to share her thoughts and a few options depending on how fit you are right now. This is by no means a total transformation but it will give you great results if you work it well.
Here is the main idea behind it: Routine. That's right... ROUTINE. The key to loosing that last bit of weight and keeping it off before the wedding is a solid routine. I recommend this little program to all the brides I meet who ask for some advice. Here it is:
BEFORE EVERY SHOWER:
Do 30 Squats
20 Lunges
5 pushups
20 mountain climbers
and a 30 second plank (include rotations if you're brave)
and that's it.
Why before every shower? Because it takes 21 days to form a solid routine, this frequency will help speed up the process and help you keep it for the whole 6 weeks.
But i'll let the expert give you her thoughts on the program:
"This is a great training programme to get the heart rate up, burn body fat and leave you feeling energised! It includes 5 (squat; lunge; push; rotate; gait) of the 7 primal movement patterns. It is important to train the body in functional movements as these movements are utilised by everyone on a day-to-day basis and can help you relieve aches and pains and train your body to move in the way it is designed to move! This programme can be completed at home with NO equipment! It can be altered in varying degrees to increase or decrease the intensity. If you do have any form of weights at home then feel free to add them in if you're comfortable and confident in doing so. If you have a chin up bar, throw a few reps of chinups in the mix too as pulling is one of the 7 primal movement patters as well. Once the reps start to feel easier than previous attempts, then it is time to step it up to the next level. There will be a beginners; intermediate & advanced option for each exercise. Please feel free to comment with any queries on technique, variations or whatever you would like to discuss. I look forward to contributing to your pre-wedding dress goals! ;-)"
Because I want you to have the best possible result, we've taken the time to add a link to each exercise in detail so you can be sure you're doing it right.
I've seen this little program do amazing things for my brides and i'm sure it would help you in your lead-up to your special day.
BTW, this works well for the guys too, but I'd try and double the amounts. You could even do this little program together and keep each-other motivated.
I hope you've found this little program useful and are excited to get it started. The routine can also be a great addition to your existing program. So please, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy this time of love and planning, this is supposed to be fun!
All my love.

Hello dear friends! Today i'm very pleased to announce we now have a good couple of chalkboards to add to any wedding photography booking. They are lovely and will make your day so special.
I think the best use of them would be during the photobooth sessions or just on their own during the day. you can give your guests a little message or let them give you one.
The uses are endles and I look forward to seeing what you and your guests come up with!
Let me know your thoughts and possible uses in the comments!
Ciao for now.

Hello all you awesome couples out-there!!
I just stumbled on this and thought I had to share it! Such a simple idea, it's easy and relatively cheap and would really wow your wedding guests. You can even take it slightly further by having your Engagement session images on there as well as maybe a copy of "your story" somewhere in there too.

Hi guys. Just a reminder that we should not take ourselves so seriously and really allow ourselves to have as much fun as we can... here are a few out-takes from the Headshot Sessions i've done this month.
No animals were harmed in the making of this.
Here is a little project for you: Go to a mirror, pull a minimum of 10 funny faces at yourself... if you're not smiling afterward... i'll eat my socks.
Ciao.

The inspiration for this shot came to me over the weekend when I walked outside to see this amazing cloud formation. The colours were just so intense and i had to shoot it. I hope you like it.
If there is something specific you would like for next week, why not drop it in the comments.

Needless to say we had a fantastic and very successful weekend shooting nothing but Headshots. Everyone got something out of it and we all learnt more than we thought we would. I will be following up with a more detailed post of how the weekend's photos developed but here is one of Luke's images from the Headshot sessions.
This is a good example of how versatile a headshot can be. From Modelling to Commercial Profiles. It's possible to shoot a huge variety of images in ver y short space of time depending on what the client needs it for.

Becs & Ben - A Sydney Engagement Photo Session
The weather was perfect, the flights were great and it all turned into a fantastic engagement/promise shoot for Becs & Ben in Sydney. A couple so in love really makes my job easy and this was no exception. We started by going for a quick refreshment and planning session that resulted in a firm plan for a great day of shooting. It's the longest engagement session i've ever done so I took full advantage of the time and varied locations available in the heart and surrounds of Sydney CBD. We even had a bit of time stop and have a quick lunch at one of the most interesting restaurants i've ever been to.

Their story starts a few years back in the UK were they met working in the same company. The relationship took them back to Australia were they settled in Sydney. Their wedding will be pretty unique as there are people flying in from all over the world to be a part of their day including Hong Kong and the UK. I really look forward to shooting such a supported and special day with them this October in the Heart of Adelaide.

Hi All! Today I had the opportunity to do some Food Photography for my local Jam The Bistro. Needless to say, I'm there most of the time and it finally dawned on us to have a shoot, seeing that I know pretty much every item on the menu (try the burger!!). John, the Head Chef was kind enough to prepare 4 dishes on their new menu for me to shoot.

Me and the Man!!
It was the most amazing day and I had the best light to work with and the best food to play with so all I can say is that I'm very satisfied with the way these turned out.
Really, Go try them!
